Assignment Day 6: Connect
Gran Via | Madrid | Spain
As I travelled on one of the Spanish high-speed AVE trains from the city of Malaga to the capital city of Madrid to meet my son, I didn’t expect to see what was awaiting me…the beautiful street of Gran Via also known as the Broadway of Madrid and connects from Calle de Alcala to Plaza de Espana.
The view of the busy city street located in the middle of Madrid shows the impressive landmark Telefonica Building (Edificio Telefonica). Completed in 1929, it was the first skyscraper in Europe and currently hosts the Telefonica flagship store, a Telecommunications Museum and also holds exhibitions, workshops and art.
